About Me

I have been an educator of students with disabilities for 16 years. I've taught in rural and urban settings, Title One schools and "normal schools" and schools with a variety of nationalities and a few nationalities.   I've coached cheerleading, soccer, track and field, and volleyball.  I've been the sponsor for student government and organized homecoming.  16 years in education there isn't much I haven't tried to get students impassioned to learn.  With a lot of humor, mistakes and love I've started this blog to offer my thoughts and assistance to whoever wants it!

You should probably know that I not only teach students who ride the short bus, I was a student that rode the short bus.  No worries though, I was able to get a master's and PhD degree despite my dsylexia.

Last year was my first year as an Assistant Principal.  Now that I'm on the other side of the classroom, I'm learning how to teach adults to teach kids and lead a team!  I'm a passionate advocate that all children can learn... even if they arrive to the school  on the short bus!
